Alumni from across the decades returned to Columbus for the annual Hall of Fame Weekend — four days of rugby, recognition, and reunion that embody everything great about Buckeye Rugby.

Thursday — The Kickoff

The weekend began with a social gathering at Threes Above High, where old teammates reconnected and new friendships formed. For many alumni, this is the moment the weekend truly begins — when you walk through the door and realize the rugby family hasn't changed, even if the faces have a few more lines.

Friday — Training & Banquet

Friday morning featured an alumni training session — a chance for former players to get back on the pitch, knock off the rust, and prepare for Saturday's matches. That evening, the Hall of Fame Banquet at the Ohio State Golf Course honored the latest class of inductees. The buffet dinner and cash bar fueled stories that got better with every telling.

Saturday — The Gavin Gill Rugby Festival

The centerpiece of the weekend: competitive rugby at Lincoln Tower Fields. The Gavin Gill Rugby Festival featured alumni matches, including Ohio State alumni taking on Bowling Green alumni in a spirited contest. The festival honors the memory of Gavin Gill (OSU '21), with proceeds benefiting the Gavin Gill Memorial Scholarship Fund.

After the final whistle, the celebration continued at the alumni after-party — because in rugby, the third half is just as important as the first two.

Sunday — Send-off

The weekend wrapped with a breakfast at Byrne's Pub, where alumni said their goodbyes and made plans for next year. By Sunday afternoon, the campus was quiet again — but the bonds renewed over the weekend will carry through until April 2026.
